A traditional combined cycle power plant uses a normal gas turbine engine burning a normal fuel like natural gas, and then uses the exhaust gases to drive a steam turbine. Steam turbine power plants operate on a Rankine cycle. The plant, to be fueled by natural gas, will utilize a combined cycle power plant technology with a high efficiency gas-turbine (GT) and heat recovery steam generator (HRSG). With GTCC type power generation, gas and steam turbines are used in combination to generate electricity in two stages, utilizing high-temperature exhaust gas from the gas turbine.
